Great Recipes, as someone who was born in New Orleans, this book brings me so much joy! Just looking through the photos brought back so many good memories with family and friends. The step-by-step directions are so easy to follow.

It was amazing—I nailed it, and everyone loved it! Thank you so much for sharing your recipe. My mom and family are from New Orleans, and I lost my grandmother last year. She was famous for her gumbo. I was blessed to have her recipe, but sadly I never got the chance to make it for her, and I later misplaced it. Making this dish meant so much to me—I know she would be so proud. Thank you again, not just for sharing your recipe, but for sharing a piece of your heritage and heart.

First off congratulations to you Marisa! My wife and I are so proud of you. We are born and raised in New Orleans, I'm proud to be from the 7th Ward (St.Benard Ave & Senate) and now live in North Carolina and we get asked all the time to cook for people, (I'll be dammed). We purchased your book to support you Risa because that's what New Orleanians are supposed to do. Next time somebody ask me to cook them a pot of gumbo I'm gonna hand them your book and say do what Risa do. God bless you. Keep doin your thing.
